DuitPOS supports multiple order modes — most commonly Takeaway and Dine In — switched using the Mode button in the side menu.

Switching modes

  1. Tap Mode in the side menu.
  2. Select the mode you want (e.g. Takeaway or Dine In).
The badge under Mode always shows the currently active mode.
Make sure you’re on the correct mode before starting an order — items are added to whichever mode is currently active, and switching mid-order may not carry the cart over.

Takeaway mode

In Takeaway mode, the screen skips the floor plan entirely and goes straight to a New Order Bill:
  • Add items directly from the menu grid on the right.
  • The cart on the left builds up as you add items, showing quantity and running subtotal/total.
  • Use Hold to pause the order and come back to it later, Settle to take payment, or Clear to cancel the order.
  • The bottom bar has quick actions: Price Check (look up an item’s price without adding it) and Open Drawer (open the cash drawer manually).
This mode is best for counter service, pickup, and delivery orders with no table assignment.

Dine In mode

In Dine In mode, tapping Tables shows your full floor plan instead of a blank order screen:
  • Browse tables by area using the tabs at the top (e.g. All Areas, Ground Floor, Terrace).
  • Each table card shows its status, capacity, and current guest count.
  • Tap a table to open or view its order.
See Tables Overview and Opening a Table for the full dine-in workflow.
If your location also uses other order modes (e.g. Delivery, Drive-Thru), they follow a similar pattern to Takeaway — a direct order screen with no table assignment.
