What this means

Some products are set up to require the cashier to manually enter a price, a quantity, or both, before the item can be added to the cart. This is common for items like:
  • Weighed goods (priced per gram/kg)
  • Custom or negotiable-price items
  • Bulk items sold in variable quantities

What you’ll see

When you tap an item configured this way, a prompt appears asking you to enter the required value(s) before it’s added:
  1. Enter the quantity if required.
  2. Enter the price if required.
  3. Tap Confirm to add the item.
If a product has variants (like different sizes), this prompt appears per variant — each size may have its own independent setting, so you might be asked again when picking a specific variant even after entering a price for the general product.

If you can’t remember the correct price

Check with your manager or the printed price list before entering a value — incorrect manual pricing will affect reporting and reconciliation.
