What You Need

Before you start, have the following information ready:
  • Your full name — your personal name as the account owner
  • Email address — used for login and password resets; must be unique across DuitPOS
  • Business name — the name of your restaurant, cafe, or business (appears on receipts and reports)
  • Business type — category describing your business (Restaurant, Cafe, Bakery, Retail, Takeaway, Catering, or Other)
  • Location/Country — where your business operates (affects currency, tax rules, and payment options available)
  • Phone number — for support contact and billing inquiries
  • A strong password — at least 8 characters with uppercase, lowercase, and numbers

Creating Your Account

1

Go to the signup page

Open your browser and navigate to the DuitPOS signup page (typically https://app.duitpos.com/signup). If you already have an account, go to the sign-in page instead.
2

Enter your full name

Type your first and last name in the Full Name field. This is how you will appear in the system as the account owner.
3

Enter your email address

Type the email address you’ll use to log in. This must be unique — you cannot use the same email across multiple DuitPOS accounts. Make sure the spelling is correct, as password reset links are sent here.
4

Enter your business name

Type the name of your restaurant or business in the Business Name field. This appears on sales receipts, reports, and anywhere your business is referenced in the system.
5

Select your business type

Click the Business Type dropdown and choose the category that best describes your business. Options include:
  • Restaurant — full-service dining
  • Cafe — beverage and light meal focus
  • Bakery — baked goods and pastries
  • Retail — retail merchandise
  • Takeaway — counter service only
  • Catering — off-site events and functions
  • Other — if none of the above fit
Your selection configures default settings like tax rates and order modes. You can change this later.
6

Select your country

Click the Country dropdown and select the country where your business is located. Available options include Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. Your country selection determines:
  • The currency (e.g. USD for United States, MYR for Malaysia)
  • Applicable tax rules (GST, VAT, SST, etc.)
  • Which payment processors are available
  • Time zone and language defaults
7

Enter your phone number

Click the Phone Number field. The country’s dial code (e.g. +60 for Malaysia, +1 for USA) is automatically filled in based on your country selection. Type the remaining digits of your phone number. For example, if you select Malaysia and your number is 0123456789, you would see +60123456789.
8

Enter your password

Type a strong password in the Password field. The password must meet these requirements:
  • At least 8 characters long
  • Contains at least one uppercase letter (A–Z)
  • Contains at least one number (0–9)
A password strength meter appears below the field showing 1 to 4 bars as you type. Green (4 bars) is strongest. If you want to include special characters (! @ # $ etc.), they’re optional but recommended.
9

Confirm your password

Type the same password again in the Confirm Password field to avoid typos.
10

Click Create Account

Review all the information you’ve entered, then click the Create Account button. The system will validate your input and create your account.

What Happens Next

After you click Create Account, a confirmation screen appears showing “Check your email.” Here’s what happens:
  1. Verification email sent — DuitPOS sends a confirmation email to the address you provided. It contains a verification link that activates your account.
  2. Click the verification link — Check your email (including spam/junk folder) and click the link in the message. This link is unique to your account and expires after 1 hour for security.
  3. Account activated — After you click the link, you are automatically logged in and redirected to your DuitPOS dashboard.
  4. Ready to configure — Your account is now active and ready for setup. You will land on the dashboard with access to all configuration tools. Follow the Setup Checklist to configure your locations, payment methods, tax rates, and menu.
The verification link expires 1 hour after signup. If you miss it or the link doesn’t work, you can request a new one by clicking Resend verification email on the confirmation screen.

Important Notes

Email is permanent. You cannot change your email address after signup. Choose carefully and make sure the spelling is correct — this is your login username.
Choose a strong password. Your password protects your entire business account and all of your sales data, customer information, and financial records. Never share it with anyone, not even DuitPOS support staff.
The verification link expires in 1 hour. If you close your browser or don’t click the link within this time window, you will need to request a new link. This is a security measure to prevent unauthorized account activation.
You cannot use the same email twice. Each DuitPOS account must have a unique email address. If you receive an error saying your email is already registered, try signing in with that email instead. If you’ve truly forgotten which account uses that email, contact support.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Email is permanent and cannot be changed after your account is created. It serves as your unique login identifier. If you used the wrong email by mistake, you will need to create a new account with the correct email address.
Yes. You can change your business name, business type, and phone number at any time under Account Settings (typically found under your profile menu). Your country and email remain permanent.
Check your spam, junk, or promotions folder — it may have been filtered. If you still don’t see it, click Resend verification email on the confirmation screen. If emails never arrive, check that you entered your email address correctly during signup. If the problem persists, contact DuitPOS support.
Yes, but each account must use a different email address. This is useful if you manage multiple businesses or restaurants. Each account has its own login credentials, data, and configuration.
The strength meter has 4 bars:
  • 1 bar (red) — weak; doesn’t meet requirements
  • 2 bars (orange) — fair; meets minimum requirements
  • 3 bars (green) — good; includes uppercase, lowercase, and numbers
  • 4 bars (green) — strong; includes special characters or very long length
Aim for 3–4 bars for the best security.
