A Setup is a named configuration profile for one physical device. Each device in your business (POS terminal, kitchen display screen, queue display, etc.) gets its own profile. The device loads its settings by entering the Setup Code shown on the profile.

Setup Profile Fields

FieldRequiredDescription
Device TypeYesThe type of device this profile is for (POS, KDS, Queue, Go, Cliq)
NameYesA descriptive label, e.g. Main Counter POS, Bar KDS, Lobby Queue Display

Give each setup a name that clearly identifies its physical location — for example Counter 1 POS or Kitchen Bar KDS. This makes it easy to find the right profile when a device needs reconfiguring.

Create a Setup Profile

1

Go to Manage → Setup

Click Setup in the left sidebar under Manage.
2

Click New Setup

Select the Device Type, then give it a Name.
3

Configure settings

Each device type has its own settings panel — receipt printer, display options, order mode defaults, etc. Fill in the relevant fields for your use case.
4

Save

Click Create. A Setup Code is generated automatically.

Apply to a Device

On the physical device, open the DuitPOS app settings and enter the Setup Code shown on the profile. The device will download its configuration automatically and restart with the new settings.

Edit a Setup

Click Edit on any setup row. Changes apply to the device the next time it syncs or restarts. To force an immediate update, restart the app on the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each Setup Code is intended for one device. If two devices load the same profile, they will share the same configuration, which can cause conflicts (e.g. both printing to the same receipt printer). Create a separate profile for each physical device.
Yes. Edit the Setup profile for that terminal and update the Receipt Printer field. The change takes effect on the terminal’s next sync or app restart.
A Kitchen Display Screen (KDS) shows incoming orders to kitchen staff as they are placed, without printing a paper docket. It is optional — most small restaurants use kitchen printers instead. KDS systems are better suited for high-volume kitchens where paper management is a challenge.
Check that the device is connected to the internet and can reach the DuitPOS server. Verify that the Setup Code you entered matches exactly what is shown in the dashboard (codes are case-sensitive). If the problem persists, try re-entering the code after force-closing and reopening the app.
