Frequently Asked Questions
When would I actually use this instead of a normal document?
When would I actually use this instead of a normal document?
Almost never for day-to-day operations — sales, purchases, and stock movements should always go through their own document types (Sales Invoice, Purchase Invoice, Stock Adjustment) so the stock quantities stay in sync with the accounting. Use a Journal Entry only for pure accounting entries that have no stock component, like a capital injection or a bank fee.
Can I edit a submitted Journal Entry?
Can I edit a submitted Journal Entry?
No — submitted entries are locked. Cancel it (with a reason) and create a new one instead, same as every other document in the module.
